2008 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

American Music Awards 2008 or AMA was held last November 23, 2008 at the Kodak Theaters. Compared to last year's AMA, this year was considered the biggest AMA ever. More than 20 of America's biggest star performed.
Show's opener was the "beautiful" singer Christina Aguilera who sung medley of her hits like "Beautiful"/"Keeps Gettin' Better"/"Genie in a Bottle"/"Dirrty"/"Ain't No Other Man"/"Fighter".

Then it followed by the performance of the oldies but the goodies "New Kids on the Block". Pink rocked the Kodak Theater with her new single "Sober". The cute and sweetheart Taylor swift performed "White Horse".

Ne-Yo gave a throwback and old school version of his hit "Miss Independent"/"Closer" from his new album "Year of the Gentleman". Leaona Lewis proved that she can be a diva by belting her latest hit "Better in Time"

Teen princess Myley Cyrus celebrated her 16th birthday during the awards night and performed her new single "Fly on the Wall" followed by Coldplay's performance. The group performed "lovers in Japan".

Mariah Carey was given honor by the AMA for having the most #1's single by a female artist and premiered her latest single "I Stay In Love" and was accompanied by her husband. Rumors says that the diva is pregnant but no confirmation yet the sexy singer.

The Fray performed "You Found Me" but the Beyonce caught audienceattention by her dance moves with her new single " Single Ladies (put a ring on it)". Teen Hearthrob "The Jonas Brothers" performed "Tonight" and was immediately followed by the "Pussycat Dolls" who performedtwo songs, "I Hate This Part/"When I Grow Up" from their new album.

The recepient of the Award of Merit "Annie Lennox" who was introduced by "Justin Timberlake" performed a song called "Why". UK superstar "Natasha Bedingfield" belted her hits namely "Soulmate"/"Unwritten"/"Pocketful of Sunshine".

On the other hand, Rihanna whose a big winner of the night performed her latest single "Rehab" from her repackaged album "Good Girl Gone Bad" and the "not-so-proud" rapper "Kanye West" performed his latest single called "Heartless".

My favorite performance of the night would have to be "Sarah McLachlan" & "P!nk" who gave a rendition of the classic hit "Angel" This was a very rare performance considering the fact that Pink is a rocker. I just loved it.

To close the show with a bang Alicia Keys whose also a big winner of the night belted out her single "Superwoman" with a little help from "Queen Latifah" and "Kathleen Battle"
